Documentary // Serrano Tamale Tradition
Prior to Sunday, we had photographed adventures, birthdays, engagements, holiday sessions, portraits and weddings. We had never captured a longstanding family event.
The Serrano Tamale Tradition, an annual gathering, has been around for decades. Years ago, the elder Serrano folks started making tamales during the Christmas season. Over time, their family grew, and they would later have a total of nine children. Fast forward to today, these nine siblings have passed down this rich history of food and love to their families. The tradition continues to thrive.
It was our absolute pleasure to capture this year's affair. Also, it was our first time participating in tamale-making.
See you next year, Serrano family!
